Finger Millet, a climate resilient wonder millet having colour varying from light brown to dark brown, is grown throughout the Uttarakhand Himalayas. This particular crop is harvested from Doodhatoli Region, Uttarakhand at an average altitude of 6000ft above sea level. Doodhatoli has gently rolling mountains and expansive meadows which provide a very conducive environment to the growth of millets with a unique taste. Finger millet is considered one of the most nutritious cereals as it has the highest amount of calcium and potassium. It has low fat content and contains mainly the healthy unsaturated fat. Being non-glutinous, it is safe for people suffering from gluten allergy and celiac disease. It is a very good source of natural Iron and its consumption helps in recovery from Anemia. It is highly suited for expectant mothers and elderly due to the high calcium and iron content. It is non-acid forming, and hence easy to digest.
